Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer I - Solar to support the design, development, and delivery of utility-scale and commercial solar energy projects. This entry-level role is suited to an engineer who is eager to build practical experience in renewable energy while working alongside experienced professionals across engineering, project management, construction, and operations. You will contribute to projects from early feasibility and conceptual design through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing electrical designs, single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, cable schedules, grounding and lightning protection layouts, and interconnection documentation. You will assist with photovoltaic system sizing, inverter and transformer selection, electrical studies, energy yield assessments, and technical evaluations of project equipment. The role will also involve supporting design reviews, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, responding to technical queries, reviewing supplier submittals, and helping ensure that work complies with applicable codes, standards, permits, and project requirements. Occasional travel to project sites may be required to support inspections, commissioning, troubleshooting, and construction activities.

Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline, along with strong fundamentals in power systems, electrical circuits, and engineering mathematics. Internship, academic, or project experience involving solar PV, renewable energy, power distribution, or electrical design is advantageous. Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, electrical modelling software, PV design platforms, or spreadsheet-based analysis is beneficial. You should be able to interpret technical drawings, communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Professional registration or progress toward registration is desirable. A proactive approach, attention to detail, commitment to safety and quality, and willingness to learn are essential.
